Stephannie Sipaque IMM 110-02

This is my final animation for this course, I learned a lot from this and it's satisfying to see what I was able to create. I'm happy with the designs and the overall movements and expressions. I hope to mess around more with animation.  Here's the things I did over the past two weeks I didn't update on the blog;        -I extended the waiting animation and drew more frames for it.        -I added to the second character animation a little and fixed the timing.        -I made progress as normal adding in-betweens and trying to make the movements smoother. I made some progress on my animation in which I have decided on the way I want my characters to look and on the style I want them to be in. I picked a fairly simple, but nice style. I drew the lines for the first character (the guy shown above) for the first small part of the animation. The animation is running at 12 fps so I ended up copy and pasting some drawings for stillness. I also drew the first two frames for the second character and all the frames for the first character are done up to this point as well. I currently need to do the most difficult parts of the animation; the running in the dress and the twirl. I am pretty happy with the progress I made so far.

This is a storyboard for my animation which is currently still in progress. This establishes the main frames and the layout of my animation. I've also established the basic designs of the characters here. As you can see the main and most important movement in the animation will be the twirl which is why I gave it two frames here in the storyboard. I do not intend to have anyone speak, so the words are just describing the actions.

This is the rough edit done in Premier Pro using the 9 video clips I selected from the last assignment. I didn't add any music, but I cut the videos and used transitions to make them fit together better. 

I recorded many videos, all of which were at least 5 seconds long. I have 9 that I would like to use for my rough edit, but here's just three of them since they are a bit of a pain to upload, I might add the rest at a later time. All the video was shot in my backyard back at home with the assistance and acting of my aunt, Nathalie. This particular video clip is just a background shot, establishing the environment in which everything else will take place. This clip actually contains my aunt this time and is actually pretty long compared to the other clip. In this one she is kicking a soccer ball at the net. I wanted to capture some good shots or at the very least some good kicks and movement. In this clip my aunt actually goes to the pool and draws a heart in the foam of the water. I know this seems really out of place, but it is something different.

This is the final photo of the blue house. While editing it I used rebatement and symmetry to decide on how I should edit certain elements of the image. I made the tree on the left taller using a combination of copy-and-paste and the clone stamp tool to make it blend in a bit better. I used adjustment layers, raised the brightness and brought out the blue with the use of curves and levels respectively. I then lowered the saturation of everything else besides the house so it would pop even more. I wanted the blue house to be the focal point of the image. This edit is much more subtle, all I really wanted to do was raise the brightness of the foreground and fix the color a bit. To achieve this I used two adjustment layers, both selecting everything besides the bright background. I used curves on one of these adjustment layers and color balance on the other. This is an edited photo of a watermelon using clipping masks and adjustment layers. I used curves on the background and the watermelon separately. For the background I increased the contrast and lowered the brightness using curves adjustment layer. For the watermelon, I created two clipping masks on two adjustment layers. One of these layers were curves which I used to increase contrast and brightness and the other I used to increase saturation to make the watermelon stand out further. This is the original watermelon for comparison. I used 2 clipping masks with adjustment layers to lower the exposure of my father and to hide the original background from his photo exposing the one you see behind him in this edited photo.  For this I created a few clipping masks and adjustment layers. This is the final Dog Statue Edit shown with the 1/3 grid I used to move the dogs. This is the same as the image above without the grid. I copied the dogs, moved them so both their heads lined up with the intersections of the grid and edited them with the use of curves. This is the original untouched image. This is the final image of this house with the internal armature I used to edit this photo. This is the final photo, if you look below you'll see that I removed the tree and parts of the house to try to make it follow the internal armature better. This is the edited photo, I used adjustment layers to change the brightness and contrast while leaving the sky out of the selection of what was affected. This is the original, as you can see the sky is more or less the same. This was edited to add in this turtle and adjustment layers were used to help make it blend in and to improve the photos. This is the original background.  This is the photo where the turtle was taken from. Layer masks and adjustment layers were used to combine these two images. This is the original background image featuring my brother and his girlfriend. This is the landscape I used a layer mask to add over my brother and his girlfriend in the edit above.

Composite 2 I added in my aunt and a laptop into the image using a combination of the selection tools. I added some shadows using the burn effect to make them fit into the scene better. Composite 3 This image was a fun one, I edited myself into the ocean and I attempted to use transparency to make it look like I'm in the water. Composite 1 I edited a drawing of a girl I had done and I also used the burn effect and a paintbrush on a new layer to make her fit in more by adding shadows and by trying to match the lighting.
